Quit Your Job – Chase Your Passion – Follow Your Dreams – Live Life To The Fullest.

Time and time again you will probably hear others giving you this same clichéd advice. Its on inspirational websites and motivational blogs across the internet. However, the question you should be asking yourself is why? Why do we see this advice everywhere? The answer is simple: because it actually means something. The reason for these mantras to be emphasized time and time again is that they are valuable for the betterment of your personal growth and improvement of your life. Why stay in a relationship that makes you unhappy let alone a career or position.  You will spend most of your time in relationships and work, so make it count. Time is like a toddler, short and precious. So, as someone who has had cancer twice – believe me when I say, time is promised to no one. The unexpected can happen…and it CAN happen to you. One day life seems survivable and then you have something that knocks you at the core and you see life in a totally different way.

So, now it’s time you ask yourself.  Are you happy with your current job or where you are in your life right now? Is it time to take a chance on yourself and follow your dreams by creating the career you want?  If you can answer yes, here is a few disclaimers you should be aware of:

  • Have an emergency fund as a cushion, preferably worth 3 to 6 months of your expenses.
  • There is always the possibility of your current job connecting you to your lifelong dream! So be sure you voice your passion and get a feel if this could be a reality where you already are.
  • Look at your dream objectively. After all, you still have to determine whether it can be made into a reliable source of income. Check out the Lean Canvas (http://leanstack.com can be helpful) and see if you can give your business idea legs to stand on and validate it.
  • Make sure you do your homework before you just jump ship.

So, if you are ready to quit your job that no longer serves a deeper purpose or fulfils you, here are a few compelling reasons for you to take the big step. Ready?  Well, let’s get started then, shall we?

You Will Feel Fulfilled

Fulfillment can only be achieved by doing the work you love. Think about it, wouldn’t it feel like you have accomplished something when you indulge in your passion? However, fulfillment is not all about the money. The feeling of bliss and contentment that you are going to change the world someday, these too can be considered fulfillment.

You Will Feel Motivated Each Day!

Since you will be in love with what you do, you feel motivated to do great things each day! No more management to please. No more getting along with colleagues, because you have to. No more wasted efforts in producing a report that isn’t even read. No more wasted hours on redundant team calls. Only pure empowerment comes from doing the things that matter the most to you.

You Will Have More Control Over Your Life

When you quit/leave your job, you are your own boss. There are no policy restrictions, no managers shouting at the top of their voice boxes, no more following the beliefs of a business that may no longer align with yours. You have more control over your life and have the liberation and freedom to work towards the things you are passionate and knowledgeable about.

You Will Improve Your Innovation and Creativity

Pursuing your passion, such as writing a book or starting your own business, will definitely drain your emotional reserves and your bank account. Yet, the only way to continue moving forward is making the most of what is available. This, in turn, will improve your creativity and innovation more than you realize.

Ultimately, You Will Be Successful and Independent

Surely, you aren’t going to achieve success overnight. But you will be successful one day! If you’re waiting for the right time to leave or quit your job….there isn’t one. Besides, life is short, we are not guaranteed tomorrow.  So, do everything in your power, take leaps of faith and go beyond your limits. If you manage to do this, there is no reason why you won’t be able to become the successful and independent person you have always dreamt of being.

People always ask me, why I smile all the time – thats simple! I’m just happy to be here another day doing what I love and you should be too.  It’s time to buck up, and own your life!
